The UH STEM Center invites K–12 students to join us for ConocoPhillips STEMZONE Day – STEM in Motion: Exploring Soccer and Bowling. Discover the physics behind a powerful soccer kick, the angles and spin that guide a bowling ball to a strike, the technology built into soccer cleats and bowling equipment, and the biomechanics that drive accuracy, balance, and control.
Through hands-on activities and live demonstrations, students will explore concepts such as force, motion, rotation, friction, momentum, and energy transfer—connecting STEM principles to real-world athletic performance in both soccer and bowling. This interactive experience strengthens teamwork, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills while inspiring a love for active, applied learning—showing that the science behind the games is just as exciting as playing them.
Door prizes will also be provided!
