Program
Overview:
The
energy transition presents significant challenges to our society and way of
life. The ability to realize the energy transition in a sustainable manner will
require 3 fundamentals in the world of energy supply and consumption for
industries, consumers and nations. These keys to energy sustainability are how
we define the Energy Trilemma: Accessible and reliable supply, affordable and
globally cost competitive supply and consumption, and environmentally and
socially responsible supply and consumption. To achieve this Energy Trilemma
successfully there are any number of solutions being proposed and adopted in
energy efficiency, renewable generation, new fuels and materials, and of course
policies to incentivize the transition. But there is one key value proposition
undeniably required that will touch nearly every aspect of the energy markets.
It is Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage or CCUS.
CCUS is
not simply an option but recognized by the International Energy Agency and our
own US Department of Energy as a requirement to provide necessary impact to the
de-carbonization of our society. Markets such as O&G, petrochemicals,
electric power, hydrogen, and the circular plastics economy all ride on the
shoulders of the broad commercial deployment of CCUS. If you are in industry or
energy is a significant part of your activities and interests (and that is
nearly all of us), this is a course you cannot pass up. You will understand the
technology and economics of the value proposition impacts - as well as the
challenges to be overcome.
Schedule: The
CCUS Executive Education program starts April 8, 2024.
Instruction for class consists of 8, 1.5-hour asynchronous (self-paced)
learning sessions that last 12 weeks, and some synchronous meetings
to communicate with subject matter experts.
